Late Breaking News!!!
River School is now making individual courses available to homeschoolers in the area. The first course a visiting student takes would be offered at an extra discounted rate of $250, and any others taken would be $500 each. Students taking courses this way would need to commit to participating in the whole semester, and plan to attend regularly and participate fully. They would also need complete a regular River school application.
Courses offered this fall to choose from:
Math: Individualized study ranging in General Math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, or Pre-calculus. Teacher: Kelly Rambo.
Art: Ceramic Tile Public Art Project in Belfast. Teacher: Randy Fein.
English: World Literature Brought Alive. Teacher: Louisa Carl, with Guest Teacher Kathy Goldner.
Science: Project Based Biology Field Studies. Teacher: Kelly Rambo.
One last course still to be picked by full-time River School students: either an Outdoor Adventure course or a Spanish course.

The River School is very pleased to announce that it was granted Federal Non-profit 501c3 status this May by the IRS. This will allow us to pursue grants, solict donations, amd conduct other activities as a tax deductible non-profit school.
We would like to thank the Frank Mazer Foundation for a generous donation to the school to end of our first school year in the black. This kind gift will help sustain our school.
