Carol Corkran

Master of Science Candidate, Experiential Education, Minnesota Sate University, Mankato, MN
Carol's work with young people has shown her that you can never make assumptions about someone's capacity to care, think, and grow. She has spent a lot of time training and working with horses and dogs: those relationships teach her patience, humility, and to notice and focus on the positive. She is finishing up a Master of Science degree through Minnesota State University in Mankato, a program she chose because of the latitude it allows students to create a learning experience that is meaningful and rewarding to them, while developing the skills to support other learners. Her academic focus combines the human-animal bond, environmental awareness/education, and place-based learning.
Motivated and creative educator seeking to apply excellent communication and organization skills by supporting young people in an intellectually and physically challenging environment. Professional and academic experience in leadership and presentations, as well as critical decision-making and team-building. Active commitment to environmental and social justice issues, including direct experience and theoretical frameworks.
